Introduction: Aging is a sensitive period of human life and paying attention to the issues and needs of this stage is a social necessity. In fact, old age is a time of facing challenges, most of the elderly are dealing with diseases that threaten their independence and quality of life. As life increases, physical performance increases and its negative effect increases the need for others to maintain independence, which can reduce the quality of life of the elderly. This research project aims to examine the quality of life of the elderly and the challenges ahead in the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation of Khuzestan province.
Methodology: This project was conducted using the mixed research method, in fact, this method is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. The model of the mixed method of explanation in the present research was as follows: review of records and background of the research. Quantitative assessment of the living conditions of the elderly based on questionnaires; Conducting interviews with seniors and managers with experience in the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation of Khuzestan province, to know more about the quality of life of the elderly. Descriptive research method was used in this part. In the second stage, an exploratory and explanatory research has been developed and qualitative data has been used. The research design in the second stage is a qualitative method of the foundation type.
Findings: The obtained results show that the quality of life of the elderly of the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation is lower.
Conclusion: Strengthening the skills and trades of people before old age, and delegating authority at the provincial level and updating facilities, formulating appropriate laws and regulations, and providing management solutions are among the strategies.
